Notifications, conversations, and connections

Notifications

Notifications bring together activity that directly concerns your account, contributions, conversations, or collaborations. Opening a notification should take you to the relevant object. Marking it read changes your cursor; it does not delete the underlying activity.

Conversations and rooms

• Use a direct conversation for a specific exchange with another person.
• Use a room or shared surface when the context should remain available to a group.
• Do not move sensitive information into a larger audience without permission.
• Leave or mute a conversation when it is no longer useful.

Connecting well

1. 1Read the person's profile and the shared context first.
2. 2Open with the concrete topic that connects you.
3. 3State what you are asking for and the expected time commitment.
4. 4Move to calls or external contact only when both people agree.

When something feels wrong

Do not share passwords, verification codes, financial details, or sensitive personal information. End the interaction, preserve relevant evidence, and use available block or report controls. Contact support when a safety control does not work as expected.
